OUR STORY

The Beat Dance Company opened in the South Main School in Bowling Green in the summer of 2008. We had approximately 60 dancers participating in our first dance recital in June 2009. During our time at the South Main School, we gained momentum as we built a name for ourselves in Bowling Green and beyond.

We moved into our North Main St. Studio in the Bee Gee Center in 2010. Our North Main location brought tremendous growth to our enrollment. We expanded within the shopping center to include our new "orange studio" in 2012, and then moved again  into our new "blue studio" in late 2015. We eventually outgrew our much-loved North Main Studio space and begin planning for our new home.

Construction started on our brand new facility in the fall of 2016. We officially moved into our forever home on Brim Rd. on April 13, 2017. Built by Clouse Construction, our 8,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility features 4 spacious dance rooms with sprung marley flooring. We owe our success to supportive families, kids who love to dance, and a staff of talented, experienced, hard-working teachers. We are so happy to share our new facility with the growing BDC family.

We believe that everyone can (and should!) dance, and we welcome dancers of all ages and experience levels to join us at The Beat. We know that most children will not go on to be professional dancers, however, we enforce proper technical training and instill a love for dance at all ages and levels. The Beat Dance Company offers a healthy, encouraging environment for dancers to grow, whether the child enrolls in one class per season or studies with us multiple days per week. Furthermore, we value the lessons learned through dance. We pride ourselves on producing students who are not only talented dancers and performers, but those who also demonstrate lifelong skills including dedication, time management, and a good work ethic.

The Beat offers well-rounded training in dance. Our Recreational Dance Program offers children the chance to grow as dancers, learning proper technique while staying fit and having fun. Dancers participate in a recital each June, and also have the option to dance in the Bowling Green Holiday Parade in November. Our Competition Company has been recognized at both the regional and national levels for outstanding technique, performance, and sportsmanship. We have been recognized as an ADCC Studio of Excellence at multiple events. Our Company dancers learn to balance schoolwork and extracurricular activities while committing to more focused dance training.

Plan to join us for the next chapter of The Beat Dance Company! Season 16 kicked off August 28, 2023!
