Summer Dance & Tumbling at The Beat
Summer is the perfect time to try out a new class, brush up on skills while learning new ones, and have fun at the studio. We offer multiple options for summer dance and tumbling at the The Beat, including a 4-week session of classes beginning July 7, and a variety of special workshops, camps, and skills clinics beginning early June. ​

Registration for summer classes is now open. BDC families must have a DSP Account with a zero balance in order to select classes.

Jazz & Lyrical Camp
Age: age 6-8
Experience: all levels welcome
Schedule: 3:30-5:00pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday June 3-5
Cost: $60
Description: Dancers age 6-8 who love jazz or lyrical (or have other dance experience and want to give these styles a try) are encouraged to enroll in our Jazz & Lyrical Camp. Each day students will explore a thorough warmup, work on technical skills, and learn choreography in both jazz and lyrical. We will host an informal showcase of our work the final day of camp.

Pom Clinic
Age: dancers entering 7th grade and higher in fall 2025
Experience: previous jazz experience required
Schedule: 2:30-3:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday June 30 - July 2
Cost: $45
Description: For dancers entering grade 7 and higher in the fall, this clinic focuses on pom technique and choreography, exposing dancers to a new style and helping potential dance team members prepare for tryouts.

Sealife Adventure Camp
Age: age 4-6
Experience: no dance experience required
Schedule: 1:30-3:00pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday June 3-5
Cost: $60
Description: Children age 4-6 who love to move are invited to join us for a Sealife Adventure themed dance camp! This workshop will feature dance, creative movement, story time, and crafts, with an informal showing the final day of camp.

Skills Clinic with Sky
Age: dancers entering 6th through 8th grade in fall 2025 (advanced 5th graders are welcome, e-mail us to inquire)
Experience: previous jazz and ballet experience required
Schedule: 10:00-11:30am Monday through Thursday June 30 - July 3

Description: BDC Instructor Sky Yang is offering a 4-day clinic for intermediate/advanced level dancers in our Competition Company or those hoping to audition. This clinic is designed for dancers wanting to improve their leaps, turns, and skills for jazz, contemporary, and dance team. ​

Skills Clinic with Sky
Age: dancers entering 9th through 12th grade in fall 2025
Experience: previous jazz and ballet experience required
Schedule: 12:00-2:00pm Monday through Thursday June 30 - July 3

Tap Boot Camp
Age: age 10+
Experience: no prior experience in tap required
Schedule: 5:30-6:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays: June 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, and 24
Cost: $75
Description: Our Tap "Boot Camp" is designed for dancers with experience in other styles who want to pick up tap without having to take class with younger dancers. This class is also great for students who hope to participate in theatre and need tap skills. The camp will meet Tuesday and Thursday for three weeks in the summer.

Tumbling and more with Coach Phil
Coach Phil is offering summer tumbling on a Tuesday/Thursday schedule in June. Our first four-week summer tumbling session begins the week of June 2nd, and class offerings are as follows:
Aerial Clinic (age 7-12) for students who have a solid cartwheel and want to work toward their aerial.

Mini Movers II
Age: 4-5
Experience: no prior experience
Schedule: Tuesdays in July: 8, 15, 22, 29, from 5:15-6:00pm
Cost: $45
Description: Our "Mini Movers" class features tap, ballet, and creative movement. Tap and ballet shoes are recommended but not required. Dancers should wear movement-friendly clothing. This could be dance clothing (leotard, biker shorts, dance dress, etc.), or any stretchy fitted clothing like leggings and a tank or snug shirt. Hair should be pulled back off the face. Your child can try the class out before you purchase dance shoes and attire. Space is limited, register early if you want a spot for your dancer. ​

Intro to Dance
Age: 5-7
Experience: no prior experience
Schedule: Tuesdays in July: 8, 15, 22, 29, from 6:05-7:00pm
Cost: $50
Description: This survey class is designed for kids who want to move and are new (or new-ish) to dance. Kids who have graduated from our "Mini Movers" program would also benefit from this class as a way to explore styles & decide what to study next. Class will explore a range of movement styles to give kids a chance to explore dance & see which styles appeal to them. Previous experience is not required. Jazz or ballet shoes are recommended but not required. Cotton socks are also permitted. Dancers should wear movement-friendly clothing. This could be dance clothing (leotard, biker shorts, dance dress, etc.), or any stretchy fitted clothing like leggings and a tank or snug shirt. Hair should be pulled back off the face. ​

Jazz/Lyrical Combo
Age: 7-10
Experience: previous experience in jazz and/or ballet and/or lyrical recommended
Schedule: Tuesdays in July: 8, 15, 22, 29, from 7:05-8:00pm
Cost: $50
Description: This combination class guides students through a thorough warmup, focuses on technical skill, and exposes children to choreography in both jazz and lyrical. Improvisation is also introduced. Previous dance experience is recommended. Jazz or ballet shoes recommended but not required. Cotton socks or bare feet are also permitted. Dancers should wear movement-friendly clothing. This could be dance clothing (leotard, biker shorts, dance dress, etc.), or any stretchy fitted clothing like leggings and a tank or snug shirt. Hair should be pulled back off the face. ​

Our summer classes usually sell out, so we suggest registering early if you want to participate! We will add additional sections as we're able. In the rare case a class, camp, or workshop does not meet minimum enrollment it will be canceled and a full refund will be issued.
