Summer Dance at The Beat
Summer is the perfect time to try out a new dance style, brush up on skills while learning new ones, and have fun at the studio. We offer multiple options for summer dance at the The Beat, including technique classes, themed camps for young dancers, workshops designed to target specific skill goals for older dancers, and our popular week-long Summer Dance Camp (SDC). Summer also serves as preparation time for our upcoming Competition Company. Dancers hoping to join our Competition Company in the upcoming season will participate in class and auditions for so we can evaluate class placement and casting in choreography. We will also use time in the summer to begin setting repertory for our upcoming competition season.

Dancers in SDC take class & learn choreography, participate in creative movement activities/dance games, prepare an informal showcase for parents, and have a blast! Space is limited and we often sell out. We recommend that you plan to register when enrollment opens on March 1, 2019!

Additional SDC Info
Dancers should wear dance wear of their choice (any style) and bring all the dance shoes they own to camp. If wearing tights, we recommend a convertible style for the option to dance barefoot. We recommend that you wait to purchase new dance shoes until our fall session is closer. If your dancer does not have a certain type of shoe, we have extra pairs on hand that can be borrowed. All dancers should bring pre-trimmed pictures on day 2 of camp for our "about me" page. Dancers in our level I camp should bring snacks to enjoy during break time. Dancers in levels II & III should bring a packed lunch each day. Each camp will present an informal performance for parents & siblings on the final day (12:00pm on Thursday 6/20 for level I; 3:00pm on Friday 6/28 for level II; 3:00pm on Friday July 12 for level III).
